Cup of Tea's Favourite Teas

At Cup of Tea, we love tea! We live it, drink it, and work with it, yet we never tire of it. So, of course, we also all have our own favourite teas. And because tea is as unique as we are, there are so many teas to try and love. Our online tea shop caters to all tastes. From green teas to fruit tea, herbal infusions, and frothy matcha, classic cuppas with a splash of milk and some fine, rare green teas. Our caffeine-free tea range is excellent for those who prefer tea without, and we have an exciting range of tea infusions that tea masters expertly blend. Our loose-leaf tea range is ever-growing, but we also stock real-leaf tea bags full of flavour and convenience. But that's not all! Our tea shop also stocks hand-picked teapots, teaware, tea accessories and tea storage. And we also have a lovely curated tea gift range for the tea lovers in your life.

Loose Leaf Tea

Because our lives are full of tea, we've been chatting among ourselves to find out what teas we personally love and wanted to share our findings with our customers. So here you'll get to 'meet' the gang and discover their favourite teas and why they love them.

Meet Charlene, Office Manager

CoT: What's your favourite tea?

CO: China Yunnan Organic

CoT: Why is it your favourite?

CO: I love Yunnan for its robust black tea flavour and sweet finish.

CoT: Loose-leaf tea or tea bag?

CO: Loose! Watching tea brew and unfurl adds to the theatre of it!

CoT: Your best friend is feeling blue. What tea would you recommend to them?

CO: My go-to 'pep-up' tea would be perhaps a nice, flavoured green like Morning Dew. It has all the benefits of green tea paired with a fruity boost of mango-citrus.

CoT: You can only drink one tea for the rest of your life. Which tea would you choose?

CO: My all-time favourite tea is Yunnan, but if I could choose only one tea for the rest of my life, it would have to be our herbal 'Nightcap' purely for the fact that I love my sleep and this particular infusion definitely helps me to feel restful of an evening.

CoT: What's the best time of the day for a cuppa?

CO: ALL DAY! There is a tea or infusion at Cup of Tea HQ to suit every hour of every day!

CoT: What one tea accessory could you not live without?

CO: I have a Zaara mug with a filter insert. It's fab. Tea leaves go into the recycling, swill the filter, and it's ready for my next cup.

Meet Alex, our Retail Operations Coordinator

CoT: What's your favourite tea?

AD: Gu Zhang Mao Jian Organic

CoT: Why is it your favourite?

CoT: Your best friend is feeling blue. What tea would you recommend to them?

AD: Green Ginger and Lemon tea as it's uplifting and fresh.

CoT: You can only drink one tea for the rest of your life. Which tea would you choose?

AD: Gu Zhang Mao Jian

CoT: What's the best time of the day for a cuppa?

AD: I like my 10.30am cup of green tea. It gives that caffeine hit, but I feel like I am looking after myself as it tastes so fresh.

CoT: What one tea accessory could you not live without?

AD: My tea ball. It's environmentally friendly as you can compost your tea leaves, and you can use it again and again.

Meet Simon, one of the original owners of Cup of Tea

CoT: What's your favourite tea?

SC: Assam Bari

CoT: Why is it your favourite?

SC: It's a fantastic all-day tea. Dark, but not too strong, malty with almost no tannin. Perfect black or with a dash of milk.

CoT: Loose-leaf tea or tea bag?

SC: Loose-leaf in most cases. Teabags usually have some level of compromise. With loose-leaf tea, you can make it exactly how you want it.

CoT: Your best friend is feeling blue. What tea would you recommend to them?

SC: Best Balance. It's easy to drink, tastes delicious, has no caffeine and leaves you feeling warm and cosy.

CoT: You can only drink one tea for the rest of your life. Which tea would you choose?

SC: I think we are back to Assam Bari!

CoT: What's the best time of the day for a cuppa?

SC: The first drink of the day. Tea has caffeine, but it doesn't blast you awake like coffee; it wakes you up in a gentle refreshing way.

CoT: What one tea accessory could you not live without?

SC: My favourite mug. Bone china with enough capacity for a decent cup of tea.
