An absolute top quality tea from one of the most famous gardens in Darjeeling.

The spring picking comes with an excellent leaf that develops a full, flowery, sparkling and highly aromatic taste. The cup colour is light yellow and very fragrant, a dream of first flush Darjeeling.

Tumsong has a worldwide reputation for its fine quality teas. The high standard is achieved by farming mostly thea sinensis, the Chinese tea plant variety.

"Good quality but very mild taste. I was hoping for more depth to the tea really. If you like your Darjeeling to have a gentle taste its worth trying."

Cup Of Tea response...
"Hi David, Thank you for your feedback - just a general pointer with regard to the Darjeeling. The Tumsong is a first flush Darjeeling and naturally very pale in the cup and rather delicate in the cup. It is floral and fragrant. If you prefer more depth in a Darjeeeling we recommend to chose a second flush like the Darjeeling Seeyok, Margarete's Hope or Darjeeling Summer. "

"A little tasteless for my palate, I'm afraid, though I'm no great expert on the finer shades of Darjeeling. It has a delicious smell, but I had to mix it with Badantam to give it more character when drunk."

Cup Of Tea response...
"Thanks for your honest review. We'd agree that Badamtan may have more depth but prefer to describe Tumsong as delicate!"
